Year 2010 so far has seen Australian Futsal Group Academy win several FFV State tournaments and Titles. At the end of last FFV Melbourne Futsal League our U11 & U12 Boys finished the season as Runners up and at the FFV State Club Titles in Bendigo the U13 Boys are Victorian Champions for the 3rd year in a row.

At the end of the current FFV Melbourne Futsal League the U12 & 13 Boys have ended the season in 1st place of the N/W division and are playing in the Grand Finals at the end of August against the S/E winners.

The Clinic and the Academy at Caroline Springs is growing in numbers each week and more and more of our players are making the FFV State Teams each year. Last FFA Futsal National Titles in Canberra we had some 10 players in various teams and most made the Finals with 4 players coming away with the winner’s medal and 4 runners up.

We would like to congratulate Anthony Duzel from our U13 boys’ team who made the Australian Outdoor team which travelled to Asia for series of games where the boys did very well. Seven players from the Academy have made the NTC outdoor program and are progressing very well and playing regularly in the FFV youth league.

The Open Men’s competition on Thursday night is almost at capacity and we are starting to look at extending to Sunday. The competition caters for players of football/futsal abilities from very serious to guys who come in and form teams with mates from either work or school.

Our Girls participated in the inaugural FFV Ladies Futsal League and started a little slow but improved as the league went on. With numbers of players increasing the standard has also and the girls are looking forward to the next season where I’m sure they will perform even better.
